MY PLEDGE
"With the slate now set for the upcoming election, my pledge to the citizens of Pinehurst is that they will have from me my very best efforts to preserve and enhance the special character of our community and neighborhoods, while managing growth wisely and responsibly.
We have big challenges before us.
We need to finalize and begin implementing the long-range plan for which many of you provided valuable input during the last twelve months. We need to ensure the vitality of our businesses and optimize the use of our financial resources. We need to protect our rural and long-leaf pine ecosystems.
I will also be reaching out to our major stakeholders, especially First Health of the Carolinas and Pinehurst LLC to coordinate the development of our mutual interests.
As has become clear in the last several years, communication and joint planning with the leadership of our neighboring towns of Aberdeen and Southern Pines and the County of Moore to take advantage of shared opportunities and solve shared problems is critical to our collective futures. I plan to give this a high priority. I appreciate the work of our current Mayor and council and the village staff to create a process through which this planning can occur and I intend to continue that effort."
